in  \: 3  \: hours \:  distance  \: covered= \: 180 \:  km \\ </p><p>in \:  one  \: hour \:  distance \:  covered =  \frac{180}{3}  = 60 \: km \\ in \: 5hour \:  distance \:  covered =  60 \times 5 \\  { \large{ \red{ \bold{ \ = 300 \: km}}}}

speed \: of \: car =  \frac{180}{3}  = 60 \: km \: per \: h \\ speed \: of \: truck \:  =  \frac{450}{5}  = 90km \: per \: h \\speed \: of \: truck \: is \: more \: than \: car \\ hence \: truck \: moves \: faster

A car covers 180 km in 3 hours and a truck covers 450 km in 5 hours.

(i). If the car travels at a constant speed, then what distance will it cover in 7 hours.

(ii). If the car and the truck start from A and travel to B at a constant speed, then which vehicle will arrive at B first ? Explain your answer.

Solution:

(i) Distance covered by car in 3 hours = 180 km

Distance covered by car in 1 hour = 180÷3

= 60 km

= 60 km per hour

now, 60×7

= 420 km

.

. . A car covers 420 km in 7 hours.

(ii) truck
