1. plastic don't absorb water and repel it but cotton absorbs the water and will make the person wet. if a raincoat is made of cotton fabric then the person will become wet therefore raincoats are made of blend of 2 things.

2.absorb water- sponge,cotton,wool.

* not absorbing water- aluminum, gold,silver,plastic.
