(c) Calculate the relative molecular mass of each of the following:
(1) Ammonium dichromate ((NH2),Cr,0
(ii) Hydrated copper sulphate (CuSO4.5H2O]
[H = 1, N = 14,0 = 16, S = 32, Cr = 52, Cu = 64]

Explanation:

Relative molecular mass = total of all the atomic masses of ALL the atoms in the molecule/compound

Watch out for brackets e.g. (OH)2 means two OH groups to add up!

(i) Ammonium dichromate should be (NH4)2Cr2O7

 (14+1x4)(2) + (2)(52) + 7(16)

= 252

(ii) Hydrated copper sulphate (CuSO4.5H2O]

64 + 32+16(4) + (5)(1x2+16)

= 250

Hope it helps. ;)
