Dear Ishan,

Acceleration refers to the rate of change of velocity. It is a vector quantity and can be represented mathematically as;

              a = v/t

where, a = acceleration

           v = velocity

           t = time

Given :-

  • acceleration, a = 2 m/s²
  • initial velocity, u = 14 m/s
  • final velocity, v = 28 m/s

To find :-

  • time that takes to reach the given final velocity

Solution :-

We know by the Newtonian equation of motion that;

       v = u + at

Putting the given values in the above formula, we obtain:

    28 = 14 + 2(t)

    28 - 14 = 2t

    14 = 2t

    14/2 = t

    t = 7 seconds

Hence, it takes 7 seconds to reach the final velocity.
