Unicellular

Organisms made of a single cell are said to be unicellular.

All the functions are performed by a single cell.

They are usually microscopic (small) and are less complex.

Eg- Amoeba

Multicellular

Organisms made of more than one cell/cell types are said to be Multicellular.

Different cells are specialized to perform specific functions.

They are large and more complex.

Eg - Plants

Nucleus Nucleolus

Large in size Very small in size

Bound by the nuclear. It has no limiting membrane

envelope

It contains chromosomes. It does not hold

any chromosomes.

It is rich in DNA, the genetic It is rich in RNA
