  • NaCl forms ionic bonds which means that the sodium atom donates its valence electron which is present in its valence shell and gains a positive charge while the chlorine atom gains a negative charge because it accepts an electron from sodium.
  • While H2O forms covalent bond because it shares electrons between the atoms.
