Jute plants are harvested or cut at the time of the flowering stage because at this stage plant contains more of fibres and we obtain a good quality of fibre. If it is allowed to grow after the flowering and then harvesting is done after-ripening of seeds, then the fibre lacks lustre and elasticity.
