Answer:

(c) Dadabhai Naoroji:

  • He started a magazine Dharma Marg Darshak and started movements against the Vernacular Press Act, the atrocious treatment of poor peasants by the Zamindars and raised his voice against the economic exploitation of India by the British which he proved in his book Poverty and Un-British Rule in India.
  • He was the founder of, Indian national congress, along with A.O. hume and dinshaw wacha. His unearthing of colonial economic exploitation is the most important contribution to Indian national movement.

Surendranath Banerjee:

  • He was one of the earliest Indian political leaders during the British Rule. He founded the Indian National Association, through which he led two sessions of the Indian National Conference in 1883 and 1885, along with Anandamohan Bose.
  • He is remembered and widely respected today as a pioneer leader of Indian politics — first treading the path for Indian political empowerment.

Gopal Krishna Gokhale:

  • As an influential and respected member of the Indian National Congress, the leading nationalist organization, Gokhale advocated moderate and constitutional methods of agitation and gradual reform. Three years later he was elected president of the Congress.
  • He played a leading role in bringing about Morley-Minto Reforms, the beginning of constitutional reforms in India.
