Thanks for the question.
1 m3 brick work contains bricks as well as mortar.
Considering standard brick size of 225 x 112.5 x 75 mm.
So, volume of each brick = 0.225*0.1125*0.075 = 0.00189 m3.
Now, considering 10 mm mortar on each side of brick, then volume of one brick with mortar will be = 0.235*0.1225*0.085 = 0.00244 m3.
So, if total volume 1 m3, number of bricks required = 1/0.00244 = 409.83 = 410 (say).
So, the volume of mortar = (0.00244 - 0.00189)*410 = 0.2255 m3.
Now, if we consider 1:4 ratio of mortar then,
Cement required, = 0.2255*1 /5 = 0.0451 m3.
We know, the volume of 1 bag cement = 0.035 m3.
So, the number of bags required, = 0.0451/0.035 = 1.28 bags.
