Given :-

  • Length of water tank is 5 m
  • Breadth of water tank is 2.5 m
  • Height of water tank is 1.25 m

To Find :-

  • Capacity of the water tank in :

a) m³

b) litres

Solution :-

~Here, we’re given length, breadth, height of a water tank and we need to find it’s capacity in m³ and litres. We can find the capacity in m³ by applying the formula of volume of a cuboid and capacity in litres can be found by multiplying the capacity in m³ with 1000.

_____________

As we know that,

Volume of cuboid = l × b × h

Where,

  • l is length
  • b is breadth

Finding the capacity :-

~First Case

⇒ length × breadth × height

➟ 5m × 2.5m × 1.25m

↬ 15.625 m³

~Second Case

⇒ Volume × 1000

➟ 15.625 m³ × 1000

15625 litres

_____________

Hence,

  • Capacity of tank in m³ is 15.625m³
  • Capacity of tank in litres is 15625 litres
