C-O bond length of methanol is more than phenol. Why

C-O bond in phenol has some double bond character due to resonance effect( delocalisation of lone pair of oxygen over the phenolic ring) whereas no such resonance is possible in alcohol and hence C-O bond in alcohol is fully single bond.Again double bond is shorter than the single bond.
