Types of forests in India are:

Tropical Deciduous Forests

  • These forests fall under the category of deciduous forests. These forest densities are a very common forest type in India.
  • These forests are found in West Odisha, northeastern states, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, and the foothills of the Himalayas.
  • The animals found in these forests are Frogs, Snakes, Rats, Deer, Wolves, Bears, Skunks, Raccoons

Tropical Rain Forests

  • These forests are also called equatorial rainforests because they are generally located near the equator. It is called a tropical rainforest because the annual rainfall ranges from 1750mm to 2000mm.
  • These forests are found in Northeastern states like Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura, Maharashtra, Assam, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
