Rusting occurs due to the presence of moisture and oxygen.

Explanation:

  • Sea water consists of a large concentration of salt. The salt are organised in water. As a result of this there are a large number of ions in sea water filter arresting process is aggravated then there is presence of electrolytes.
  • This is because i is an example of an oxidative change. Hence the rusting of iron nails takes place faster in the presence of high salt concentration in sea water.
