)the quality of being hot; high temperature.

"the fierce heat of the sun"

)Replace Light Bulb to Fluorescent: Example: an incandescent light bulb converts electrical energy into radiant energy in the forms of visible light and infrared radiation. The light is useful; however, the infrared radiation (heat) is wasted.

)a small medical thermometer with a short but finely calibrated range, for taking a person's temperature.

)The range of this thermometer is from 35o C to 42o C. For other purposes, we use the laboratory thermometers. The range of these thermometers is usually from –10°C to 110°C.

)Differences: Clinical thermometer is used to measure body temperature however laboratory thermometer is not used for the purpose of measuring body temperature. The temperature range of clinical thermometers is 35°C-42°C and that of laboratory thermometers is -10°C-110°C.
