C. Statements given below are incorrect. Write

the correct statements : - These are the correct statements : (i) A pipette measures any small amounts of a

liquid.

(ii) One hectare square plot has a side of

10000 m2.

(iii) The liquids are generally sold by volume.

(iv) SI unit of volume is cubic metre.

(2) To find the area of an irregular cardboard using a graph paper ÷

Step 1- Put the irregular cardboard on the graph paper and draw its outline using a pencil.

Step 2- Now remove the cardboard from the graph paper and count the number of squares within enclosed shaped.

Step 3- Area of the cardboard will be equal to number of squares enclosed.

* Note that the area of the cardboard should be written in small unit as area of each square.

(3) A district is 40 km long and 18 km wide.

Area = length × breadth

= 40 km × 18 km = 720 km2.

a) 1 hectare = 0.01 km2.

720 km2 = 720/0.01 hectare.

720×100 hectare = 72000 hectare.

b) 1 km2 = 1 × 10 to power 6 m2.

720 km2 = 1 × 10 to power 6 m2.

(4) First we tie the cotton thread with the glass stopper and immerse it in the water contained in the measuring jar and see that the levels of water rises. The number of level rises is equal to the volume of the glass stopper.

(5) Density = mass/volume.

Mass = Density×Volume.

Mass = 2.7 × 125 = 337.5g
