c) The LOM of two numbers is 150. If the ratio of these numbers is 5:8, find the numbers.​

Ratio of the two numbers = 5 : 8

Let the numbers be 5x and 8x ,

So,

5x = 5 × x

8x = 2³ × x

LCM = product of prime factors with highest power

===> x × 5 × 2³ = 150 { given, LCM = 150 }

===> 40x = 150

===> x = 15/4

Number1 = 5x = 5 × 15/4 ==> 75/4

Number2 = 8x = 8 × 15/4 ==> 30

Hence, the two numbers are 75/4 and 30.
