Answer: Snails have a shell on their back.When they detect danger,they move back to their shell and remains there until it is sure that everything is okay outside.We cannot remove a snail from its shell easily.Even if we succeed to do so,the snail will not be alive at the end of the process.It is a part of its body and that is why we call it a shelled gastropod.
