both use DNA, RNA, ATP, the basic metabolic processes are the same. They are both multicellular organisms. they have both a bilateral symmetry, they are both eukaryotes. Their cells don't have cell walls. They have both specializations of cells in regard to sensory, reproductive and metabolic systems. Neither is autotroph.

Their nerve cells produce action potentials in pretty much the same way.
