d) Mountains are immensely useful for man, which could be assessed by following aspects

1) Mountains are rich source of perennial rivers, which provide valuable water to humans.

2) Mountains are rich source of forest, which provide valuable timber, fruits, medicines to mankind.

3) Mountains are also important location for asthetic utility, eco tourism , religious tourism etc for humans.

4) Mountains provide appropriate location base for the development of multipurpose projects like dams etc.

e) Plains are formed with the development of geosyncline between converging listhospheric plates, and this foredeep created by plate interaction got filled up by the sediments, which were eroded and deposited by numerous rivers.

f) River plains are thickly populated it's because of following causes

1) These plains are highly fertile to raise large quantities of food crops which could support hugh population base.

2) Flat terrain help in the accomodation of high density of population

3) River plains also assure the availablity of water

g) Mountains are thinly populated due to rugged terrain and topography and physically can't support high density of population. Even mountains ahve extreme climate which also critical hamper high density of population. Even lack of adequate resources like water, and large fertile land make the region less densely situated.
