The following precautionary measures has to be taken :
1. A spark in a switch:
- Rubber shoes should be worn immediately before touching the switch.
- The main household switch (or MCB or FUSE) should be switched off.
- Insulated gloves (rubber gloves) have to be worn.
2. Handling electrical appliances when not in use:
- The wire of the appliance should not be attached to any socket.
- Insulator clothings (like rubber gloves/shoes) have to worn.
3. Switching off an electrical geyser after a bath:
- The hands should be dried using a towel before putting the hands on the switch.
4. Unplugging a wire after the use of an electric iron.
- The switch should be turned off and them the wire should be removed from socket.
- The iron will be hot, so should be careful while handling it.
5. Repairing a refrigerator:
- The current source to fridge should be switched off.
