Explanation:
Oh, wow. That was one of the most shocking and overwhelming experiences I ever had in my life!
It was early January, and it was my first time to visit America. I landed in JFK (International Airport in New York) around afternoon. I was very excited to see New York, but didn’t know that I am going to be impressed even before leaving the airport. When I walked into the arrival passport control hall, I was pleasantly shocked, because never ever in my life I have seen thousands of people of all colors, races, ethnicity in one spot: men dressed like Sikh and with turbans, Orthodox Jews, women in burkas, hippie-dressed people, people in suits - they were so different! Black, Arabs, Asians, White, Latino - they all were patiently standing in dozens of lines for passport control, just to come to this country. I literally saw people from the whole world coming here - it was one of the strongest memories that stuck in my head. You need to know that I came from 98% white country, where are very few minorities. I have encountered different cultures before, but all together in one spot? That was my first shocking experience.
I had very positive impression of Black people. Lots of African-Americans work at JFK, and they were very glad to help me with directions, instructions and advises. Lots of them got very excited when they figured that it was my first time in the US, so they almost competed with each other to be a better guide. It gave me very warm feeling (they didn’t ask money for that).
As I reached Manhattan, and I raised my head, I was dazed by these giant skyscrapers. Again, I have seen skyscrapers before, but all at once, everywhere around you? I have never felt so little before.
By the middle of the day, I came to one interesting comparison. Do you know what was that? I will be honest but I felt like a barbarian, who was brought from outskirts of Roman Empire, to witness great power of the mighty Rome.
I bet that “barbarians” who lived in places like this:
Of course, I have traveled the world before, and have been to many cities like Berlin, Paris, Moscow, Cairo, Jerusalem etc, however none of them had the same effect on me, as this was the only place where I thought: “Wow, it feels like I am in the capital of the world.Rule of thumb, for those who plans to visit NYC: Don’t stop or try to block pedestrians - be always in motion, if you don’t want people to bump in you!
I hope it will help you.
if it does work so,plzzz mark me as brainlist.
