Setting a custom template as the default:
Any template that is present in one of the directories shown in the Template Management dialogue can be made the default.
To make a specific template the default:
- Choose File > Templates > Organize from the main menu. The dialogue for template management appears.
- Choose the template you wish to use as the default by first selecting the folder containing it in the box on the left.
- Select Set As Default Template from the drop-down menu by clicking the Commands button.
- The document will be created from this template the next time you choose File > New to create a new document.
- Although many crucial parameters, like the default typefaces and page size, can be adjusted in the Options window Setting up and Customizing Calc, more complex settings (such page margins) can only be altered by switching out the default template for a new one.
