Given :-

C = {x | x is an integer and x² < 5 }

Solution :-

We have to write the given set in the roaster form.

Square of all negative numbers is +ve so let's start from 0.

0² < 5 which is allowed in set C.

1² < 5 which is also allowed in set C.

2² < 5 which is also allowed in set C.

3² is not smaller than 5 so it is not allowed in set C.

So the possible squared integer smaller than 5 are 0, 1 and 2. Also negative numbers when squared result in positive are allowed.

Hence the required set is : C = {-2, -1 ,0 , 1, 2 }
