as carbon is tetravalent it will form covalent bonds with 3 hydrogen atoms and 1 carbon atom the next carbon atom in the chain will bond to other 2 hydrogen atom and one oxygen atom which then bonds to another oxygen atom which finally bonds to hydrogen atom.
it has carboxylic acid as its functional group
ie COOH
