C6H5Cl is less reactive towards nucleophilic substitution reactions than C2H5Cl. Explain.

Answer: due to delocalization of electrons in benzene ring difficult to attach nucleophile but in presence of electron withdrawing groups like NO2,CN (-M)

benzene compounds also participate in nucleophile substitution

In C6H5Cl there is no -M group so

not participate in nucleophilic substitution
