Given :

  • mass of calcium hydroxide = 37 g

To find :

  • Moles of calcium hydroxide.

Formula used :

n =  \dfrac{given \: mass}{molar \: mass}

where n is number of moles.

Solution :

Molar mass of calcium hydroxide = 40+ (2×16)+(2×1)

⟹ 40+ (2×16)+(2×1)

⟹ 40+ 32+2

⟹ 74 u

Now we will find number of moles :-

n =  \dfrac{given \: mass}{molar \: mass}

Now put :-

  • given mass = 37

  • molar mass = 74

 \implies \: n =  \dfrac{37}{74}

\implies \: n =  \dfrac{1}{2}

\implies \: n = 0.5 \: mol

Answer :

Number of moles of calcium hydroxide = 0.5 moles.
