When CO2 is passed through lime water.
Then reaction that take place is
Redox reaction

here one can confuse with

double displacement and redox reaction

but as we know in double displacement reaction changes of ions or transfers of ions take place.

but as there is CO2

which is covalent bond so there is no ions

and in the reaction we can see calcium hydroxide releasing H20 and there remain only oxygen with calcium then the 02 from carbon dioxide comes joins with it now in products calcium has three oxygen and one carbon so it has lose hydrogen and gain one oxygen so it is a redox reaction.

thanks for asking the question
