ΔABL में,

BL^{2}  = AB^{2}  + AL^{2}  ----------------------समीकरण (1)

ΔAMC में,

CM^{2}  = AC^{2} + AM^{2} ----------------------समीकरण (2)

ΔABC में,

BC^{2}  = AC^{2} + AB^{2} ----------------------समीकरण (3)

समीकरण (1) और समीकरण (2) को जोड़ने पर

BL^{2} + CM^{2}  = AB^{2} + AL^{2} + AC^{2} + AM^{2}

BL^{2} + CM^{2}  = AB^{2} + (AC/2)^{2} + AC^{2} + (AB/2)^{2}

BL^{2} + CM^{2}  = AB^{2} + (AC^{2})/4 + AC^{2} + (AB^{2})/4

BL^{2} + CM^{2}  = (4AB^{2} + AC^{2} + 4AC^{2} + AB^{2}) /4\\4(BL^{2} + CM^{2})  = (5AB^{2} + 5AC^{2})\\4(BL^{2} + CM^{2})  = 5(AB^{2} + AC^{2})\\

समीकरण (3) से BC^{2}  = AC^{2} + AB^{2} का मान रखने पर

4(BL^{2} + CM^{2})  = 5(BC^{2})
