Ca+HNO3➡Ca (NO3)2+H2O
Mg+HNO3➡Mg (NO3)2+H2

This is because HNO3 is a strong oxidising agent. It oxidises H2O produced to water and
itself get reduced to any of the nitrogen oxides .Mg and Mn are the two metals which react with HNO3 to produce hydrogen gas.
