(i) total no. of possible outcomes outcomes = 3+5=8

favourable outcomes =3

probability = favourable outcomes / total no. of possible outcomes

probability =3/8

(ii) total No. of possible outcomes = 3+5=8

favourable outcomes =5

probability = favourable outcomes /total no. of possible outcomes

probability =5/8

Total no of ball(n) =8

Total no of red balls=3

Total no of blue balls=5

Therefore....

i) red

P(r) /P(n) =3/8

ii) not red

P(b) /P(n) =5/8
