Explanation: cactus prepares food in its green fleshy stem. It prepares its food through the process of photosynthesis. But due to the harsh climate conditions in desserts ,the leaves of cactus plants are reduced to spines to avoid transpiration. Hence , photosynthesis and the preparal of food happens in the stem
