The law of conservation of mass is a fundamental law and is applicable everywhere.. Here as well the law is valid as the mass of reactants and mass of the products will be the same. But since the reaction is carried out in an open container, CO2 which is one of the products of the reaction will leave the vessel and hence the calculated mass will not be the same as reactants

tanishimir: We are not asked calculated mass just it is given mass of product and reactants will be same and as co2 is a product we need to add its mass

calcium carbonate decomposes to form Calcium oxide and carbon dioxide.

CaCO3-> CaO + CO2

So,Masses of the products and reactants are equal

Pls mark it brainliest if you are satisfied!

tanishimir: Hey are you sure as it is a open vessel
garg0602: ya
garg0602: bcoz we dont consider here molecular mass like one atom of oxygen =16
tanishimir: But the co2 will not librate
