Calcium hydroxide cannot be used to remove permanent hardness of water.why?​

It is so because permanent hardness occurs due to the presence of sulphate and chloride ions and since the calcium hydroxide can only be used to remove the salt containing hydrogen carbonate ions, therefore calcium hydroxide can't be used for removing permanent hardness of water
