Ca(OH)2 + H2SO4 ==> 2H2O + CaSO4
Details:
Ca(s) + H2SO4(aq) --> CaSO4(aq) + H2(g) Though the reaction usually stops after a minute or so as calcium sulphate is not very soluble, and so coats the calcium stopping further reaction taking place. Mg(OH)2(s) <==> Mg2+(aq) + 2OH-(aq)
