When calcium oxide is mixed up in water then it will give us calcium hydroxide.

This is also termed as slaked lime that made the room temperature.

This usually occurs to speed up the process.

Once calcium hydroxide is formed then it is mixed up with carbon dioxide which gives a slow reaction with lime.

This is to harden the blocks, stone and bricks together.
