Apatite ( Ca)5(PO4)3(OH) is present in our teeth. It is reactive to many weak acids such as Coca-Cola, vinegar. Toothpaste keep our teeth healthy as they have sodium fluoride (NaF) or sodiumonofluorophosphate ( Na)5(PO4)3(F)) and they react with apatite to form CaPO4F which is more resistant to acid attack. These are present in small quantities to prevent fluoride poisoning and the by-products r also quite dangerous. Hope it helps.
