According to Bohr's postulates of atoms , he placed atoms in discrete shells of orbits which is formulated by the formula of '2n^2' . Calcium's atomic no is 20 . So according to distrubution
K shell -2
L shell-8
M shell - 8
N shell - 2
so the upper limits of k shell and l shells are finished so those shells are filled
Hope it Helps !
