Given :

(53 × 47)

To find :

Value using identity

Solution :

Here we need to simplify the given expression such that to create a identity.

53, we can write 53 as sum of 50 and 3 , i.e. , 50+3

47, we can write 53 as sum of 50 and -3 , i.e. , 50-3

therefore,

(53×47) = (50+3)×(50-3)

Now it is in form of (a+b)(a-b),

where,

  • a = 50
  • b = 3

We know that (a+b)(a-b) = a² - b²

Therefore

(53×47) = (50+3)×(50-3)

(53×47) = 50² - 3²

(53×47) = 2500 - 9

(53×47) = 2491

ANSWER : 2491
