Calculate a normality obtained by mixing 10g of HCl solution in 10ml

Use the formula ........................ W= (XEV)/1000, where X= normality or Molarity, E= Equivalent wt (As in case of HCl, it is 36.5), and V= your desired volume (As in this case 100 ml required).

Thus..................

W= 1 X 36.5 X 100 /1000 =3.65 gm, but HCl present in liquid form so use the formula

Volume= Mass/Density;

Thus

Volume= 3.65/1.16= 3.14 ml.

As your solution is 35%; for 100 ml calculation is as

volume = 3.14 X 100/35= 8.97 ml

so you have to take 8.97mL of HCl from the conc. HCl and add water upto 100 mL
