Answer:

Explanation:

specific capacity of steam is 1996

So,

Q=mc∆t

=1×1996×(200-100)

=1×1996×100

1.996×10^5j

OR,

Q=mc∆t

1kg=1000gm

And specific heat in cal is 0.47c/gm°c bt let it be 5c/gm°c(bcz 4.7 is near to 5)

So,

Q= 1000×0.5×(200-100)

=50000cal

=50kcal

Given :

Mass of stream , m = 1 kg .

Initial temperature , T_i=100^oC=373\ K .

Final temperature , T_f=200^oC=473\ K .

To Find :

The  amount of heat required to convert 1 kg steam from 100 C to 200 C steam .

Solution :

We know , specific heat of stream is , S=2010\ J/kg \ K .

Heat required is given by :

H=mS\Delta T\\\\H=mS(T_f-T_i)\\H=1\times 2010\times ( 473-373)\\\\H=2010\times 100\ J\\\\H=201000\ J\\\\H=201\ kJ

Therefore , amount of heat required to convert 1 kg steam from 100 C to 200 C steam is 201 kJ .
