The atomic number of copper is 29. It has 10 electrons in its 3d subshell, thus making it highly stable. So there are no partially filled 3d orbitals. We know magnetic moment is calculated as mew = (n*(n+2))^(1/2) where n is the number of partially filled d orbitals. Therfore in case of copper magnetic moment is 0 as n=0.
