Given:

Length of Pendulum, l= 9cm= 0.09m

To Find:

Frequency of oscillation of simple pendulum

Solution:

We know that,

  • For a simple pendulum

\bf{Frequency=\dfrac{1}{Time\:Period}}

\bf{}\bf{Time\:Peroid=2\pi\sqrt{\dfrac{l}{g}}}

where,

l is the length of the pendulum

g is acceleration due to gravity

So, for given pendulum

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=2\pi\sqrt{\dfrac{l}{g}}}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=2\pi\sqrt{\dfrac{0.09}{10}}}

(Taking value of 'g' as 10 m/s²)

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=2\pi\sqrt{0.009}}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=2\pi\sqrt{9(0.001)}}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=2\pi(3)\sqrt{0.001}}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=6\pi\sqrt{0.001}}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=6\pi(0.03)}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=0.18\pi}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=0.18\times\dfrac{22}{7}}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Time\:Peroid=0.56\:s}

Now,

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Frequency=\dfrac{1}{Time\:Period}}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Frequency=\dfrac{1}{0.56}}

\longrightarrow\mathrm{Frequency=1.78\:Hz}

Hence, the frequency of oscillation of given simple pendulum is 1.78 Hz.
