Given: Two planets Earth and Mars are present

To find: Gravitational force of attraction between them

Explanation: Gravitational force acts between two masses irrespective of the distance between them. Here, Earth and Mars are far apart but a gravitational force attracts them.

Mass of Earth= 6* 10^24kg

Mass of Mars= 6.4 * 10^23kg

Distance between them= 5.5* 10^10 m

Gravitational force of attraction id is given by the formula: Gm1m2/r^2 where G is a constant whose value is 6.67* 10^-11.

Using,

f  =  \frac{6.67 \times  {10}^{ - 11}  \times 6 \times  {10}^{24}  \times 6.4 \times  {10}^{23} }{ {5.5 \times  {10}^{10} }^{2} }

= 8.4* 10^16 N

Therefore, the force of gravitational attraction between them is 8.4* 10^16 N.
