Calculate how many moles of sulphur dioxide will be evolved when 5 moles of sulphur is reacted with oxygen

When 5 moles of sulphur is reacted with oxygen, 5 moles of sulphur dioxide is evolved.

Given-

  • Moles of sulphur reacted = 5 mol

The reaction of formation of sulphur dioxide is as follows-

S + O₂ → SO₂

From the above reaction we can see that 1 mol of sulphur reacted with 1 mol of oxygen to form 1 mol of sulphur dioxide.

So, similarly 5 moles of sulphur reacted with oxygen to form 5 moles of sulphur dioxide.
