Arranging the observations in ascending order we get 6,7,9,12,14,20,23,32,36,42

Median =Q2= 14+20/2= 17

The median of the numbers to the left of Q2=Q1=9

The median of the numbers to the right of Q2=Q3=32.

Semi interquartile range = Q3−Q1 /2

= 32−9 / 2

=11.5
