179.841 g is the answer

Aanchal11: plzz can u explain me...
Srr11: ok
Srr11: take molar mass of h20 as 90 divided by molar mass of cuso4.5h20 as 249.72 and multiply it by 499
Aanchal11: thank u so much
Srr11: mention not

We know that,

Element ==>Atomic mass

Cu =>64g , S => 32g , O => 16g , H =>1g

Weight of 1 mole of CuSO4.5H2O = 64 + 32 + 16x4 + 5(1x2 + 16) = 250 gm

Weight of 1 mole of H2O = 1x2 + 16 = 18 gm

1 mole of CuSO4 contains 5 moles of H2O

Or, 250gm of CuSO4 contains 5x18 gm = 90

gm of H2O

Or, 1gm of CuSO4 contains 90/250 gm =

0.36 gm of H2O

Or, 499 gm of CuSO4 contains 0.36x499 gm

= 179.64 gm of H2O

So the answer is 179.64 gm
