Mode of a given set of number is the value which occurs most of the times.

Mode of a distribution is calculated as follow.

From the given data, highest frequency is 10

Modal Class = 30-50

L = Lower boundary of the class = 30,

f0 = frequency of preceding class to modal class = 9,

f1 = frequency of modal class = 10,

f2 = frequency of succeeding class to modal class = 8  (Modal class is last, hence taking next biggest distinctive value)

h = range of modal class = 50 – 30 = 20

Mode = l + (f1 – f0)h/(2f1 – f0 – f2)

Mode = 30 + (10 – 9)20/(20 – 9 – 8) = 30 + 20/3 = 36.6.

Hence Mode of given distribution = 36.6
