Answer:

46.66 is the required mode for the given data .

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation:

Given , class interval : 0-20,20-40,40-60,60-80,80-100

Frequency : 5,9,12,6,3

We know ,

Mode = l+(\frac{f_{1} -f_{0} }{2f_{1}-f_{0}-f_{2}   } )h ...........(i)

l= lower limit of class interval

h = difference between class interval

f_{1} = highest frequency

Step 1:

Therefore , the highest frequency is 12

So, f_{0} = 9 and f_{2} = 6.

and class interval is 40-60 which is just centre of  highest frequency 12 .

we have , h = 60-40 = 20

l = 40 (lower limit )

Step 2:

Now put the all value in mode formula ,

Mode = 40 +( \frac{12-9}{2.(12)-9-6})20

         = 40 +( \frac{3}{24-15})20

         = 40+\frac{3}{9}. 20 = 40 +6.66 = 46.66

Final answer:

Hence , the mode of the given data is 46.66
