Given :

  • Mass of glucose dissolved = 250g
  • Mass of solution = 2.5 kg

To find :

Molality of Solution

Forumula used :

  • Number of mole = mass ÷ molar mass
  • Molality = Number of mole of Solute ÷ Mass of solvent ( in kg)

Solution :

First of all we need to find moles of glucose and mass of water.

Number of mole of glucose = 250g ÷ 180 g/mol

➝ Number of mole of glucose = 1.39 mol

_______________________________________________

Mass of Solution = mass of solute + mass of solvent

➝ 2500 g = 250 g + mass of solvent

➝ mass of solvent = 2500g - 250g

➝ Mass of solvent = 2250 g

➝ Mass of solvent = 2.25 kg

_______________________________________________

\sf \: Molality \: = \: \dfrac{1.39 \: mol}{2.25 \: kg} \\ \\ \sf \implies \: Molality \: = \: 0.62m

ANSWER : 0.62m
