We have to calculate the molarity of the 10 % HNO₃ of aqueous solution having density 1.02 g/cc

solution : 10% HNO₃ in a aqueous solution.

it means, a 100g of aqueous solution contains 10g of HNO₃.

now volume of solution = mass of solution/density of solution

= 100g/(1.02g/cc)

= 98.039 cc

no of moles of HNO₃ = given mass/molecular mass = 10g/(1 + 14 + 48) = 10/63 = 0.1587

so, molarity = no of moles of HNO₃ × 1000/volume of solution in mL

= 0.1587 × 1000/98.039

= 158.7/98.039

= 1.6187 ≈ 1.62 M

Therefore the molarity of the solution is 1.62 M
